Nike SB x Blueprint Abington

Iconic UK skate company Blueprint has collaborated with Nike SB on the Abington, as reported by Crooked Tongues.
“No strangers to collaborative sneakers with the likes of Lakai, they’ve joined forces to create something that’s wearable but a break from the norm. On hearing about the use of the Abington, which for all its experimental styling, in the tones utilised harks nicely back to that other low-profile non-Dunk cult SB release the Gino Ianucci FC, but with a UK cash theme (check the £20 shades and £2 ‘Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants’ quote – also the name of the Blueprint retrospective that’ll be showing at the Old Truman Brewery). Sterling stuff indeed.

Guaranteed to separate opinion, we’ve got to respect level of detail applied to this slimline, Phylon midsoled, nylon shanked, double seamed, hidden lace looped performance piece – from every paranoid lunatic’s favourite, illuminatti imagery, on the insole to the foil heat transfer on the heel cup. Added utilitarian use, away from the aesthetics comes from the sneaky suede/3M overlay to give a little extra visibility on a board or fixie. ”
The sneaker is definitely looking good and very solid. The sneaker will be officially released this coming weekend. If you want more insight into the project, go check out the pics after the jump and the accompanying interview over at Crooked Tongues.
