Phillip Starck is a designer to which almost no company would say no. That does not necessarily mean that everything he touches will come out on top (Puma come to mind), but his sheer range of works puts him in a very special class of designers.

Mr. Starck is supposedly a motorcycle enthusiast. That may not mean much to the average person, but mixing love with work usually produces the best results.

Take for example this protoype he completed for French motor-cyle manufacturer   Voxan. Re-inventing the Cafe Racer into modern machine-art, Starck is doing something right.

According to, to be called a Cafe Racer, “a bike must be brutal and made for selfish motorcyclists.” Clearly the tight design, microseat, and those incredible exhaust tubes make this a killer design.
