Designed in 1935, and produced today by Cassina, the Utrecht Armchair is built of a steel frame polyurethane foam and polyester padding. A little more comfortable than Rietveld’s more explicit De Stijl designs, these armchairs still grow from the same interest in planes and points. As such, you get a pretty good indication of how earlier ideals fold into later works. (Via Retro to Go).
