Martha Cooper “Street Shots” at Subliminal Projects

Actively documenting New York street life since the 1970s, Martha Cooper is renowned for her photographs of hip-hop and graffiti culture. These images make up some of “Street Shots,” but the glory comes in her depiction of children at play. Making the most of their surroundings, the kids in Cooper’s shots revel in joyous imaginative activity.

“Street Shots” is on view at Subliminal Projects until February 13, 2009. The gallery is located at 1331 W. Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles, California.
