Founded in 1961, the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University houses one of the finest collections of modern and contemporary art in New England. Sadly, that designation won’t remain for long. Brandeis is feeling the strains of budget deficit. And, to counteract those stresses has decided to sell the collection. Among the 6,000 objects that will hit the market are works by Willem de Kooning, Jasper Johns and Andy Warhol. Shocking news, to say the least. (Via Boston.com).
