Volcano Stadium by Jean-Marie Massaud

Stadium architecture is endlessly fascinating. That may be the sports enthusiast within talking, but there are such distinct elements that must be met in an athletic commission and still space for artistry and innovation exist. Not wildly triumphant in form, Jean-Marie Massaud’s desing for “Volcano Stadium” in Guadalajara, Mexico grabs attention for its incorporation of the landscape. The feel is akin to the PIT in Albuquerque, though with a far better design. (Via Yanko Design).

The stadium will house Chivas and includes the typical amenities a new stadium requires… and a skatepark!

More after the jump.
