Worlds Away: New Suburban Landscapes opened yesterday at the Yale School of Architecture Gallery. The exhibition was first mounted at the Walker Art Center (and from there, we have the images associated with this post). Exploring the growth of suburbia and the challenges associated with re-conceptualizing dying spaces (particularly in the retail landscape) is the main thrust of Worlds Away. Complementing this coverage, and as ancillary to the exhibition, Andrew Blauvet’s “City and Suburb: Worlds Away?” from Design Observer is a reflection not to be missed.
Worlds Away is in New Haven until May 10, 2009.
