Beyond the Armory

There is no shortage of coverage describing the effects of economic downturn on the art market. This weeks Armory Show, and its peripherals, in New York lends itself to further analysis. “Toplessness and Taxidermy in a Bottoming Market” by Karen Rosenberg runs down the attempts made by the ancillary New York fairs to stay current, vibrant and stretch out a few dollars. Focus is on the hipper, dare I say cheaper, events.
