Artek 10-Unit System

A collaborative effort between Finnish manufacture Artek and Japanese designer Shigeru Ban, the 10-unit system is an exercise in simplicity. The idea is built on a concept of rationality and sustainability with the individual parts of the furniture allowed to be rebuilt into various forms. For material, UPM Profi (an environmentally sound wood and plastic composite) has been chosen. This makes the pieces recyclable and non-toxic. (via Wallpaper*).
