Fifteen years ago, Claus Oldenburg and wife Coosje van Bruggen realized an idea for a series of large freestanding Shuttlecocks in the sculpture garden at the Nelson-Atkins Museum. The Museum, located in Kansas City, has since taken to the duo’s creation as an institutional symbol. Through August 16, Inventing the Shuttlecocks takes viewers through the sculptures full story. Drawings, plans, press reactions, and more are part of the celebration. Check the Nelson-Atkins site to view the related web content.
