Another solid reissue from Vitra. The Standard Chair was designed by Jean Pouvre in 1934. Utilizing steel, a hallmark of much of the man’s work, the chair is finished with a wooden seat and back. Reckoning that much of the sitters weight would sit on the back of the chair, Pouvre reinforced the design and made structural reference through robust rear legs. (via Retro to Go).
