Designed in 1948, the Straight Chair is the latest classic to be reissued by Knoll. The designer is George Nakashima whose furniture exploited the natural feeling of his chosen woods. Working in New Hope, PA, Nakashima produced a number of lines for Knoll during his career. The Straight Chair is built of Walnut, with hickory used for the spindles for contrast. All new chairs feature the Nakashima signature under the seat. (via Retro to Go).
