The Eames Lounge Chair: An Icon of Modern Design explores and documents the evolution of the Eames’ lounge chair. Designed in the early 1950s, the chair began life as an experiment allowing Charles and Ray to work on developing a super-comfortable leather upholstered chair. Since then, the chair has been in continuous production through Herman Miller and built an important place in American and international social fabric.
The book places the design in full context, as well as offers a selection of wonderful images illustrating the chairs developmental history. The Eames Lounge Chair is published by BIS Publishers. (via Daily Icon).
