Francis Bacon: A Centenary Retrospective

With 65 paintings and 65 archival works, Francis Bacon: A Centenary Retrospective is the first exhibition investigating the artist at a New York institution in 20 years. Born in Dublin in 1909, Bacon’s sources of working process is the main focus of the exploration. Additionally, new information emerging since his death in 1992 spurs a reevaluation of his work in this comprehensive selection of works.

Francis Bacon: A Centenary Retrospective is open at the MET until August 16, 2009.

More examples of Bacon’s output after the jump.
