Northeast Auctions Americana Sale

On Friday, July 31 to Sunday, Aug.2, 2009, Northeast Auctions (Portsmouth, New Hampshire) hosts its annual Americana auction. 1400 lots of early American furniture, folk art, paintings, ceramics, and miscellaneous art and antiques are available for preview from Thursday, July 23 to Sunday, July 26. Highlights include the lustre collection of Wheezie Gutman, a diminutive southeastern Massachusetts breakfast table, and a temperance painting illustrating the path from bar room to jail cell (shown above).
