Karla Black

Glasgow-based Karla Black is best known for her ephemeral floor sculptures. Her next exhibition will open on September 3o, 2009, at Modern Art Oxford. In the Museum’s upper galleries, Black will create site specific works that bring together an interest in 1960s conceptualism and minimalism and sense based material – for example lipstick and crushed chalk.

The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog produced in conjuction with the Migros Museum, Zurich. The images here are from drawn from Black’s recent work at Migros. Above is Principles of Admitting. After the jump view Persuader Face. Both pieces are from 2009, and images come courtesy of the Mary Mary Gallery, Glasgow.

Modern Art Oxford will show Black’s installation until November 29, 2009.
