Treasures from National Geographic Society

National Geographic Society is entering the art market. After some debate, the archives of National Geographic have been opened up to institutions and private collectors interested in owning a slice of 20th-century life. The hoard of photographs cover everywhere from Uganda to the Mississippi, and will find a place in the market through Steven Kasher Gallery in Chelsea. On September 17, 2009, the gallery will host its first exhibition of material from the Society. Read more in today’s NYT.
