Second Nature: The Valentine-Adelson Collection

Having piqued interest in the Hammer Museum (again) with announcement of the R. Crumb exhibition, it is only fair to give a nod to a current exhibition at the UCLA institution. Second Nature brings to public view for the first time the generous gift of contemporary sculpture that is the Valentine-Adelson Collection. Over 50 sculptures from 1995 to the present, all by Los Angeles area artists, represent a unique moment in local art history. As one might imagine, the grouping of objects also represents a distinct collecting vision. The above video is a touch long, but is also the best possible tour you can get without travel to the City of Angels.
