Deitch Projects presents “Black Light,” an exhibition of photographs by Kehinde Wiley from September 3 to 26, 2009. The exhibition is complemented by the release of the first Wiley monograph, Black Light, published by powerHouse Books. Wiley, as many know, is famed for his depiction of contemporary black male figures in historic pose. The photographs offer new insight into the artists studio practice, and with a nod to Hype Williams, perhaps even a little more hip-hop flare than the canvases.
Deitch Projects is located at 76 Grand Street, New York.
