Knoll is reintroducing several designs by the great Japanese-American woodworker George Nakashima. Originally produced in the 1940s, the Straight Chair and Splay Table will be replicated by the same hand craft with just one small change. Current safety requirements have forced a slight shift in the width of the seat. Both pieces are made of walnut and satin hickory. Excellent news for those desiring a piece of Nakashima and a touch frightened by some auction and antique shop prices. (That said, there is no firm word on price point). (via Dezeen).
A second look at the Straight Chair after the jump.
