Josh Agle, better known as Shag, produces narrative paintings based in retro inspired environments. Much of the work finds base in recapitulations of mid-century “California Cool.” His new works, going on view at Cory Helford Gallery this coming Saturday, take slightly darker cues. Collectively titled Autumns Come Undone, the paintings follow a Fall color palette and delivers slightly darker stories.
The exhibition runs at Corey Helford (8522 Washington BLVD, Culver City, CA) from November 21 through December 9, 2009.
Further examples from Autumns Come Undone follow.
