Aside from being Rick Klotz (of Fresh Jive fame) art school professor, Mick Haggerty has made a notable impact on graphic and illustrated design since his arrival in Los Angeles in 1973. Working on pieces for the likes of The Go Go’s, Haggerty particular genius is found on many a 1970s and 80s record cover. Today his work is less geared toward commercial venture and takes more personal shape.
An exhibition of Haggerty’s work, “been here, did this,” opened on November 21, 2009, at Wal*Art in Los Angeles. There is a week left to enjoy, and by the looks of things well worth the effort. For a brief history of Haggerty please follow on to Freshjive.
I’ve pulled a few images from Rick’s profile for reference, which you can find after the jump.
