Chicago-based photographer Brian Ulrich turned his lens to disused malls, big box stores, and closed fast food outlets for his Ghosts of Shopping Past project. Presented in full at The Morning News (with full interview) the images are most powerful when documenting spaces that have been closed for considerable time. The decay of some malls (like Dixie Square Mall, closed for almost 30 years) grabs attention. In contrast, several of the other images are frankly quite dull. (via Core 77).
