Published yesterday, Holland Cotter’s memoir (of sorts) relating experience with the Big Apple’s churches (“Urban Uplift: Sanctuaries for the Spirit”) is both a fun read and quality round-up of religious architecture on the island. He goes from 5th avenue, where childhood toy shopping excursions sparked interest, through all the major neighborhoods.
