Elisa Strozyk’s Wooden Textiles

Born in Berlin, Elisa Strozyk recieved her MA in Future Textile Design from Central St. Martins in 2009. Her training is evident in her wooden textile work. Thin veneer applied to fabric backing creates the patterning, and Strozyk employs the pieces in a variety of form. Blankets are an obvious, but she also plays with traditional furniture forms fusing elements of the sewing table with side tables (just one example). Her work will be on display at IMM Cologne later this month. (via Daily Icon).

Further examples of Strozyk’s wooden textiles after the jump.
