Plastic Classic Chair

Melding the historic with the contemporary, the classic with the utilitarian, Pilu Wu creates a chair with elegant sensibility. Wu was inspired by the plastic stools littering the streets of Taiwan (the designer’s home). Wanting to establish connection between the recognized design classic and one taken for granted. Wu rightly views the plastic stool in positive light, and rather than dismissing it as low grade, champions the stool’s importance in local culture. (via Dezeen).
