Opening tomorrow night at Cincinnati’s Country Club Projects, Shapeshifter celebrates seven artists who manipulate mundane objects through simple technique to explore complex issues. Among the artists included, local boy Keith Benjamin resonates most. His work draws from his everyday experience – finding unwanted objects (beer cartons, cereal boxes, and more) for use in his sculpture. Benjamin’s creations reflect interest in the dynamic between work and play, and the rough aesthetic of the presented objects balance an almost heavy hand with detailed craft.

Country Club Projects is located at 3209 Madison Road, Cincinnati, OH. Shapeshifter runs to April 10, 2010.
