On view until June 27, 2010, Collected. Reflections on the Permanent Collection offers a series of meditations on art works entrusted to The Studio Museum in Harlem. The exhibition features approximately 100 works dating from mid-century to the present, and is conceived as a series of eight smaller exhibitions within the larger whole. Emphasis is placed on shared themes among the selected works – parceled through specific concerns and styles (including media and materials, traditional art historical genres, and cultural notions of history and memory).
Reflections is the second in the institutions Collected series.
