Christoph Finkel

With wood as his primary medium, German artist Christoph Finkel produces sculptural bowls. The wood guides his shapes, Finkel acutely aware of how the individual character and history of each chosen piece plays out in finished work. Finkel begins his process by logging his own trees, which are selected locally. From there he progresses toward turning the bowls.

Finkel studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nurnberg.
