Paintings by John of the Amazing Hancock Brothers

While certainly Amazing, the Hancock Brothers are clouded in a bit of mystery. What I know is that they are half-Japanese and half-Texan with a strong love of American curios. The paintings shown here by John, each has a subtle connection to the painted circus sign. They also feature some strong subject matter – at times alarming – and use folk art styles to present more complex themes.

You can view a whole lot of work by the Amazing Hancock Brothers – who also do prints and poems – on their site.

For now check more paintings by John after the jump.
