Video | Vernissage: 2010 SFAI MFA Thesis

Art Babble provides a look at the recent MFA Thesis exhibition from the students of the San Francisco Art Institute.

In May 2010, GALLERY CRAWL interviewed artists Alexis Arnold, Mercedes Dorame, David Marc Grant, Mimi Moncier, and Jennifer Odell about their own art projects, as well as work created by fellow graduates, Casey Gray, Laura Boles Faw and Luca Antonucci. Dorame explores the twin ideas of artifact and ritual through photography and installation; Arnold created a full-room installation with cast-cement furniture and ordinary household objects encased in crystals; Grant makes colorful paintings that address global environmental issues; Odell created a detailed virtual trip across the U.S.; and Moncier incorporates her architectural background into her interactive sculptures. VERNISSAGE was on view at Fort Mason’s Herbst Pavillion May 15 – 22, 2010.
