“Self-Sufficient City” Book

Following Self-Sufficient Housing and Self-Fab House, both from Actar, the newest release from the Spanish publisher Self-Sufficient City, compiles the results of the 3rd Advanced Architecture Contest organised by IAAC (Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia).

The contest invites reflection about life in the near future. The participants’ entries, from all over the world, explore the future of the cities in the light of the social, cultural and technolgical changes in which we are immersed and formulate hypothesis on the habitability in an urban space.

The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia is a latest-generation education and research centre dedicated to the development of an architecture capable of meeting the worldwide challenges in the construction of habitability in the early 21st century.
