Celebrating Manhattan-based athletics company Everlast’s 100th anniversary, British hatmaker Kangol deliver a limited run of hats. Josh Peskowitz of Esquire reports –
“Boxers, both historical and fictional, have long had a penchant for headwear, and Kangol selected four styles from the last century — each representing a different era in the Everlast timeline. The two standouts for us are the Beanie (above at left, representing 1961-85) and the Player, a crushable felt fedora frequented in the 25 years before that. As with the other two looks, both hats will be available in black come October, and you can pretty easily picture their referential yet modern appeal atop the heads of such luminaries as Rocky Balboa and Muhammad Ali (or at least his friend Malcolm X).”
