LeRoy Grannis’ iconic images from Surf Photography of the 1960s and 1970s are enough to lighten (for a moment) the darkest depths of Winter. Available from Taschen, the book compiles highlights from famed surf photographer LeRoy Grannis’ technocolor archives. A surfer from the age of 14, Grannis became a staple of the California longboard scene in the 1960s, when at the age of 42 he picked up a camera when ordered to find a hobby. He built a darkroom in his garage and as passions grew became one of the most important documentarians of the sport.
