Where the runway meets the street

Australia’s Song for the Mute are three seasons into something young for the market. “Song for the Mute originated from the desire to innovate menswear and construct a new 21st century silhouette with non ordinary fabrics. Both founders Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty are well regarded designers in their own rights; Lyna graduated from the Accademia Italiana di Moda in Florence in 2006 and Melvin from the Billy Blue School of Graphic Arts. The structure of their pieces communicates Song for the Mute’s narrative and soul as well as the joy of creative culmination.”
