The Marmot brand was once originally a club for mountain climbers before it became a major outdoor apparel company. “In April 1971, University of California Santa Cruz students Eric Reynolds and Dave Huntley were in Alaska on the Juneau Icefields on a school project in Glaciology. It was here on the glacier, amongst these students, that the idea of a Marmot club began.” And in 1976, the guys decided to only make all their products in Gore Tex Fabric and the rest is history. The “Alpinist Pant” offers a full waterproof shell that will keep you dry in any snowstorm. Some of the features: three layers of stretch fabric, 100% taped seams, water-resistant zippers, internal-gaiters with gripper elastic and Cordura Scoff Guard. I’ve taken it to Northstar, California and back and it has served me well. It’s available at Marmot.
