Where the runway meets the street

Adam Kimmel remains a favorite of ours. This week we check out his new Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection, which has been presented officially yesterday. Kimmel continues to present garments that are luxurious, well cut, yet comfortable, this following his very own signature style.

Concerning the inspiration for the new collection, the designer says the follwing: “I’d always wanted to do a Pacific North West collection. I grew up watching Twin Peaks and Rivers Edge and then a few years ago I came across an artist by the name of Dan Attoe. Dan was then known for his neon bar-sign sculptures but it was his paintings that captured my imagination. I was instantly drawn to his images of the rugged sublime that is the Pacific Northwest – where snow covered volcanoes and primeval redwood forests are the backdrop for the shit-kicking, off-roading antics of his strange biker dudes and Paintallica philosophers.”

Kimmel went on spent time with the artist mentioned above, also shooting the accompanying campaign film with Attoe. Hopefully we can show you that soon.

For now take a full look at the new collection after the jump.
