BIG Comes to NYC

Exciting news in the world of residential architecture – “BIG‘s inaugural North American project for Durst Fetner Residential introduces an entirely new residential typology to New York City that will add an inviting twist to the Manhattan Skyline and consists of over 600 residential units of different scales, situated on a podium with a cultural and commercial program.”

The news was released yesterday and the buzz will undoubtedly continue for sometime. BIG, based in Denmark, will transform an awkward area at 57th and the West Side highway into a dynamic space with the goal of redefining the NYC apartment building. (via Arch Daily).

After the jump, check the short video about the project to find out how.
