Jiri Geller Sculpture

Finnish artist Jiri Geller draws inspiration from popular culture and transforms the ubiquitous into the unusual with a distinct understanding of weight. For example, his wave, which you see above, balances a notion of weightlessness with clearly heavy material. Working with the common balloon form, Geller manages much the same. Then, he plays with popular cartoon characters making almost KAW’s like busts of Donald Duck and Mickey hands. Fascinating work. (via Fubiz).

Lots more of Geller after the jump.
