Eleven showed works by South African artist Natasha Kissell at the Volta Show in New York. Kissell plays with art historical images, twisting pictorial conventions pushing modern life into idealized landscapes. The results often turn conventions on their head. This makes the paintings all the more amusing and engrossing.
