37 year old French artist, FredtheFrench lives and works in Lille. His latest sculpture, MP33, consists of 5 towers. Each tower is composed of respectively 32, 64, 128, 256 and 512 original LPs. These quantities correspond to the usual values of computer memory capacity (in gigabytes, 32GB, 64GB, etc.). The work gives physical existence to intangible assets, through a concrete form: vinyl records’s tower. It’s about compression format and about quality of sound.
Fred is represented by For Art Gallery.
