Stormie Mills “Dirty Dozen” at Friends of Leon Gallery

Artist Stormie Mills’s new exhibit at Friends of Leon Gallery uses what many artists would consider unusable material as the tools with which he paints. “Dirty Dozen” is an exhibit featuring characters painted from a mixture of dust, dirt and spray paint.

“With spray paint, what doesn’t stick to the canvas falls to the floor to mix with the dust and the dirt. I used this mix with an  acrylic paint to make these. It shows how most things in life can me made use of in another way, shape or form, but the human condition is such that it seems to often get stuck in mental limbo.”

The exhibit opens Thursday, September 8, and will show through September 25.
