Thanks to Mr French Cancan for pointing us towards Himel Brothers Leather Co. 80s years in the business this Toronto based company concentrate on creating bespoke leather jackets based on classic designs from the early to mid twentieth century.
As they put it themselves ‘garments for the car and motorcycle, flyers, miners, railroad workers…’, as a result as well as looking good these jackets have a strong functional element reflected in the details each product carries. Particularly impressive is this Heron 1930s A-1. The prototype for the A-2 flight jacket worn extensively during WW2, this early model is reproduced in tough as nails vegetable tanned goatskin and lined with tan tartan flannel. The time, research and quality of materials that make up this jacket make this a stand out product that will last for years to come. Impressive indeed. -ld
