London-based photographer Jon-Paul Mountford was initially an illustrator, but found himself impatient with the lengthy process from concept to finished product. He soon took up photography, and began with film before testing the limits of digital photography, which he shoots exclusively now. His photos are often of immense landscapes, where the camera captures a grand stillness that pushes each image over the edge from landscape photographer into sublime territory.
Mountford was recently honored for his conceptual portraits and landscapes in the Photography Masters Cup.
