Where the runway meets the street

There are only a handful of running shoes as iconic as the New Balance 420—slim profile, excellent arch support, readily customizable. They are huge winners. The only drawback as we see it is that in a collaborative setting, the visual strength of the shoe can overwhelm the fruits of co-creation.

This season’s K-Way collaboration speaks to the crisp air (and tight lungs) of a spring track-and-field event with a radiant blue 420 that features the usual suede overlays and cushioned three-layer sole unit with dual-branded tongue and nylon taffeta. The latter material is also prevalent on the K-Way Claude jacket—originally created by K-Way mastermind, Leon-Claude Duhamel. This waterproof piece looks to come in two colors—an olive and a cannot-miss-it yellow—and has the handy feature of folding into a pocket on its own back. Safe to say this collab walks softly but carries a good-sized stick. Available from END.
