Here’s an interesting buddy-up between Olasul—makers of super lively swim trunks and tee shirts—and master surfboard crafter, Danny Hess. A pair of handplanes: one made from fir in a swallow-tail shape and the other a poplar teardrop design. Billed as “perfect for having fun on the beach break,” both are handmade in San Francisco from sustainably harvested wood.

Admittedly, we don’t get to the beach often enough, and have not seen one of these body boarding accoutrements in action. This video is unrelated to the wares above, but at the 1:45 mark you can see a handplane in action.
