California Carnivore, North America’s largest carnivorous plant nursery, is the result of an obsession with greenery and horror films. Founder Peter D’Amato’s childhood fascination with 60’s monster movies and a magazine called ‘Famous Monsters’ that advertised Venus flytraps in the back, lead to him collecting these creepy plants and eventually turning it into a career. An incredible range that includes varieties able to drug their pray, swallow a whole rat or create glues to trap insects and small animals. A plant that might attempt to bite your face off. Respect. Coolhunting caught up with D’Amato and his hungry friends, press play for more.
