Fiesa Sand Sculpture Festival – The Simpsons, Darth Vader & More

Art is all around and we can be as creative with the most of our resources. Sand sculpting is a fine example of that and to celebrate the talent of it, every year the Fiesa International Sand Sculpture Festival is held in Pêra, Algarve, Portugal.
The world’s most talented sculptures all come down to build a city-like installation. It’s expected that 35,000 tons of sand is used to build with, as the festival throws themes to build to ranging from Hollywood, discoveries, living world, and animal kingdom. Famous characters and people are all created include the likes of The Simpsons, Batman, James Dean and Freddy Kruger. The event just recently started now and will run until October 25, so there’s plenty of time to check it out if you’re round the way.
