The Royal College of Art’s summer show, RCA 2012, boasts all sorts of inventive and attractive designs, including these simple and solid slippers from graduate Gaspard Tiné-Berès. Constructed form a single die-cut piece of felt, they are assembled by the potential wearer using a single shoelace and have a look reminiscent of classic Camper sneakers.
“The act of self-assembling the slippers increases the sense of ownership and emotional connection with them and allows for personalisation through the choice of laces used,” Tiné-Berès says. We just want a pair to wear around the office, though an emotional connection usually comes from something as simple as that.
