Michigan born Jason Polan is attempting to draw every person in New York. If you’re in the city right now he’s probably standing on the opposite corner sketching you as you read this on your portable internet advice. Don’t look up. Previously drawing every artwork in MOMA, twice, Polan is a regular in the The New York Times with his ‘Things I Saw’ column and founder of Taco Bell Drawing Club . Opening today in the Ace Hotel gallery space, the People Around Here exhibition and book is just a small part of this humongous project, covering the area around Broadway and 29th Street.
